Free educational seminar "Modern technological solutions for efficient vaccine production"
On March 12, at the Ministry of Industry and Trade of the Russian Federation a seminar on the theme of application of modern technologies for the vaccines production will be held. Among the participants are representatives of regulatory authorities of the Russian Federation, invited foreign specialists, representatives of Russian pharmaceutical companies.
Modern vaccine production largely depends on the level of technologies and equipment used. Among the tasks affecting the level of technology, the most important are the safety of production and economic feasibility.
Vaccine production is one of the most complex branches of medical biotechnology, which is also very expensive. Moreover, funds need to be invested both in the improvement of already existing drugs and in R & D.
Application of new methods in the development, testing and production of vaccines in the future may ensure the appearance of new, safer and more effective drugs.
However, the high cost of producing new vaccines and the upgrading of existing vaccine production facilities in accordance with GMP standards are serious problems for manufacturers.
The process of vaccine production of any type involves several steps (fermentation, separation and homogenization, as well as mixing, preparation and, potentially, freeze-drying). Ricard Fenollosa (Sales Manager of Riera Nadeu) will speak on the use of supercentrifuges for purification and separation of vaccines; further, the advantages of using disposable bioreactors in the production of vaccines will be analyzed by Nico Oosterhuis (Technical Director of Celltainer Biotech BV). Rajeev Kabbur (Commercial Director of Brevetti Angela) will talk about the benefits of BFS technology for vaccine production.
These and other topics, including Upstream and the use of reusable systems for the fermentation of vaccines, will be discussed by invited speakers. We hope to see you among the participants of the seminar.
