DCS® Sampling is an easy way to take representative samples from double bag barrels. The system is based on the docking concept of the DCS® Drum Emptying System and can achieve a high level of tightness - less than 1 µg/m3. This procedure ensures that samples are handled without contamination and that there is no external contamination of the drum or outer liner. Samples can be taken under inert conditions. Compact and mobile, the system can be moved to different locations in the production area. DCS® can also be made from Hastelloy or coated for corrosive applications and cleaned in place with water or solvents. DCS® Sampling has various options and can be used for a combined sampling and drum emptying operation. Because safety is always a priority, DCS® guarantees both primary and secondary insulation, with a glovebox allowing the operator to connect liners in a sealed environment. The DCS® system is equipped with a Push-Push HEPA filter connected to the exhaust system.

Instead of using standard sampling bottles, which must be installed in the safety cabinet to ensure its tight connection, a flexible liner system can be used. This system allows sampling into a sleeve that can be isolated and detached in a closed manner using a specially designed clamping system. The LayFlat* system is suitable for sealed sampling of powders and granules. (SS 1.4404 and LDPE sleeve)

Dec has also developed a flexible drum sampling solution with reduced cleaning requirements and lower operating costs. Unlike the standard DCS® sampling system, the flexible version consists of a rigid base to seal the drums, as well as a top flexible casing for system control and sampling. The system provides good visibility and greater freedom of movement. The advantages of combining a rigid base and a flexible system are to avoid contamination of the drum during the sampling procedure and to prevent the formation of liners residues around the drums after the undocking procedure. The DCS® Flexible Sampling System includes a spray system to decontaminate the system before disconnecting.
